Winners of the Young Lighting Scientists Contest 2024

The final of the “Young Lighting Scientists” Contest, organized by the CIE NC Russia, was held on 20 September 2024. This year 40 papers from 18 Russian and foreign universities and organizations were accepted for the Contest. As last year, the Contest was attended by representatives of four countries - Russia, China, Turkey and Japan. All papers were divided into 3 sections - "Lighting Engineering", "Architecture and Lighting Design" and Foreign Section. 

Foreign Section winners are the following: 

• 1st place: Juanjie Li «A Study of Healthy Lighting for Learning Performance and Visual Fatigue in School-Aged Children with Reading and Writing Tasks», School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University,  Key Laboratory of Ecology and Energy Conservation of High Density Habitat, Ministry of Education (Tongji University), Scientific supervisor – Luoxi Hao, Ph.D., Tongji University, China 

• 2nd place: Wang Tongyue «Study on alertness and visual perception of LED lighting color temperature in classroom», Scientific supervisor – Luoxi Hao, Ph.D., Tongji University, China 

• 3rd place: Sönmez Nurefşan «Performance Evaluation of Interior Shading Systems for Daylight Availability, Glare and Thermal Control», Scientific supervisor – Arzu Cılasun Kunduracı, Ph.D., Yaşar University, Türkiye 

All contest papers will be published in the Russian National Committee of CIE journal ‘Lighting Engineering Innovations’ by the end of this year. The winners will be published in the journal in "Light & Engineering" Journal (included in SCOPUS).
