About The Festival
The theme "Travel in Light - Exploring the Realm of Time and Space, Blooming the Beauty of Light and Shadow" aims to emphasize that the Shanghai International Light Festival meets the world of light and shadow art, with no distance in time and space, becoming a stage for magical light, showcasing the charm of Shanghai at night and the achievements of Shanghai's landscape lighting construction. This festival is a a major city level event approved by the Shanghai Municipal Government.
The festival is scheduled to take place from Thursday, September 19, 2024, to Saturday, October 18, 2024. The Shanghai Exhibition Center will host various activities from September 19 to September 27, starting with the Opening Ceremony on September 19 at 7:30 PM (Beijing time) and a Professional Audience Day on September 20. From September 21 to September 27, the events will be open to the general public.
Venue: The Shanghai Exhibition Center is the earliest iconic building in Shanghai since the founding of the People's Republic of China. It has been listed as one of the first Chinese architectural heritages of the 20th century, and this year marks the 70th anniversary of its construction.
