In October 2022 CIE held a 1-day symposium on the advances in the measurement of temporal light modulation.

Temporal light modulation (TLM) causes visual perception effects such as flicker, phantom array and stroboscopic effects. All of these issues can have adverse effects on users of lighting products (such as performance and health), thus the accurate assessment of TLM is fundamental to proper assessment of its effects on users. This symposium was held to explore current research on this topic.

The Proceedings of this Symposium consists of 68 pages, compiled from of 9 of the 13 papers that were presented at the symposium.

The publication is readily available from the CIE Webshop or from the National Committees of the CIE.

All papers of the Proceedings, including the open-access ones, are available as individual papers in the CIE Webshop.

An overview of the papers included in the proceedings can be found in the Symposium Abstract Booklet.
