colourfulness

attribute of a visual perception according to which the perceived colour of an area appears to be more or less chromatic

Note 1 to entry: For a colour stimulus of a given chromaticity and, in the case of related colours, of a given luminance factor, colourfulness usually increases as the luminance is raised except when the brightness is very high.

Note 2 to entry: This entry was numbered 845-02-40 in IEC 60050-845:1987.

Note 3 to entry: This entry was numbered 17-233 in CIE S 017:2011.
